HOW IT ALL STARTED

Cheska Bakes is a story of a pastry chef who’s taking a foot forward to the next chapter of her baking career. Established in 2018, Marie loves making cakes in her home kitchen for her close friends and family. With her astonishing 8 years experience as a pastry chef in the Hotel Industry, creating wedding & birthday cakes has always been an exciting side project for her. Until one day, she began training herself,  researching & creating recipes, and exerting  more effort and time in creating celebration cakes. And slowly, it fuelled her passion and desire in designing cakes that taste as good as it looks. And with continuous support around her, she was convinced to start on taking cake orders and thus  the beginning of her Journey.

As Cheska hones her ability, her husband who has been supporting her dream since day one, gave her the idea to just focus on the cake business and grow it, Since juggling both work & accepting cake orders on the side is affecting her work & life schedule,  So it came time for a decision — if she should give up her steady job as a pastry chef in the hotel and go full time on the cake business. Eventually, Marie realised, this is the excitement she’s longing for, the endless flow of  creative ideas, the challenges in creating custom cakes, and the Independence of learning every step of her career. She’s very passionate in her work and it is about time to take the risk — she would just have to create that steady job for herself.
